This is my 1995 fiat cinquecento sporting we named her Bumble-Bee cuase of the nice yellow and black colors. My wife picked out the name (y)

Bought her with some weird size tires as u can see on this picture:

Here is a picture of her with her new tires:

Everyday I'm off of work, I try to do something new to the car to take me closer to my goal of my project.

A picture of her rear while she still was badged:

I'm now looking for a Punto 60 engine so i can do the 1.2 8v SPI engine swap

Let me know what you guys think

may be lowering should come first before engine :D?

Ming

Could do but due to budget atm i can only get the springs and use them with the standard shocks (cant get the whole coilover), saw a set for sale second hand on our local vending site for 30 euro's. New Apex ones cost bout 90 euro's here.

I have heavily used Eibach -35mm (I think) springs that I would be more than happy to just give away. Will do the job just fine with standard shocks before you can get proper suspension. But then, an honest advice for lowering your car in NL: I regret it every single day, especially now after my swap and new exhaust sticking out a bit more than normal. Some speed bumps just will not let you pass through without a scratch, no matter what you do. And I usually don't carry any passengers.

The tires, first thing I noticed too, what was their size exactly?

(After cleaning up my basement I will probably have lots of small bits and pieces that I will want to get rid of by donation, so if there is anything you need, just ask).

Your giving away ur Eibach springs? The tires i had bought the car with was in front 175/70R13 and in the back 165/60R13 if im not wrong, the back tires were worn out and made the car a massage seat. Now with the four new 165/55R13 70H Accelera tires it drives a whole lot better, ming is right a lowering would give the car a better look, we got quite a few bumps here too but dont think ill reach them with 35 or 40mm drop.

Cleaning up ur basement.. hmmm got a P60 engine laying there? :D
Are u still using the lowering springs or did u buy the advanced coilover system already?

They have been lying in my basement for over 4 years now. Mind you, they are really beaten up, I replaced them for a reason. And I am still not sure about their drop, but certainly higher than my current OMP -40mm springs.

That indeed is a "bubble" :D

No, but I do have a 1.1 CCS complete engine (this I want to keep for a while more, in case I need some spare parts). Also a sporting gearbox, also beaten up and more importantly with one broken thread for the front mounting. Also some other things that might be of interest to you and that I am ready to get rid of at any moment: 1.2 8V flywheel, Palio 1.2 exhaust manifold, and almost new (less than one year used) standard front Brembo brake discs. Other things I would have to look and see what else I have.

Moderators: I know that technically things like this should go to classifieds, but let's say we have a semi-private directed conversation here.

I sent u a PM about the Springs and exhaust. Would be nice if they were 35 mm ;) ming would be happy that she got lowered. What was the reason u swapped them for other springs then?

I think my impression was that they are too soft for my taste and a bit worn out.

Mostly yes, but not entirely. Imagine what you would have with no springs at all...

A very stiff ride, think ull end up bending everything under your car and the tires would be rubbing like hell :yuck:

Do you guys know how to remove the black stripe from the front and back bumper?

each black strip on the corner should be held on by 2 screws each, you will have to go behind the bumpers to unscrew them

Ash

In other words i have to remove the bumper to reach the screws or can i reach them by laying under the car?

What i would want to do, is remove the strips then close the gaps up so i can get a clean bumper look, saw it once on a grey cinquecento on a forum and it looked very nice.

I think you have to remove the bumper for that. It's a bitch of a job, because of seized screws, especially if they have not been touched for a while. Removing the stripes will leave a nasty looking holes in the bumper. But since you are planning on an engine transplant you have to remove the bumper sooner or later.
