Hi all, getting my cinq sporting ready for its mot and have noticed that the rear bumper mounts are nearly shot due to rust. They look as bad as the ones shown in the bumper guides on here and as one side includes the towing eye i wondered if it was an mot fail.
Cheers.

it shouldnt do but if mot man thinks it compromises the structure he can use his discretion to fail it on what he pleases e.g rusty wing if he thinks its sharp and could cause damage to a person

mines rusty as hell underneath and theres a hole in one of the drums >.> hope it dont fail on that the brakes and stuff work perfectly so i guess its just on what they deside

call me a tight git but if i was mot man i would fail it for a hole in the drum just because its the brakes and you cant scrimp on brakes part of the mot is a visual check of brake conditions too

Refer to H. p.s this is the manual its from http://www.ukmot.com/manual.asp

you can buy the rear plates with a new cylinder on it for relitively cheap. but if your doing that mabee look into a rear disk conversion and a punto gt front upgrade... sounds like a good excuse.

ill probs just get the back of the drum im guessing any will fit along as its the same size theres a scrappy down the road ill just pop in there see whats potting around

Are we speaking of the rear drums ? Or the plates that bolts onto the arm ?

Both are pretty cheap new, no need to get second hand.

Plates is around £25 / side from fluffy. Drums are around £20 / side from any local motor factor.
