hii my car only has a vin number on the front and rear windows will it pass its m.o.t. ?

i found the 1 in the boot i dunno how i missed it yesterday i had all the carpet out as i was cleaning it i havent got one under the bonnet but that doesent matter as long as theres one in the boot

afaik checking the vin is not part of the mot.
the cars have vins stamped into the body in a few hidden areas. vosa and such know where.
one of them is in the footwell somewhere. and another under the vin plate iteself in the boot.
hard to see because they are painted over.

mine arnt painted over but it defiantly is part of the mot i looked in a haynes book then i looked online to make sure i think they just check its there and its the same number as the other knocking around the car
Yes.
they wright the vin number down for the test, I guess its so they know that the cars the right one.

its also checked for consistency making sure its there permenaltly ifnot it wont pass that why i was kinda funny bout it beeing just on the window but i found it in the boot now anyway

vehicle has to have vin number on it for mot,ive had one today that had no vin number anywhere and it was refused an mot because of this fact...

yeah mine passed wiv the boot one and window ones cuz i dont have one under the bonnet for somereason
so long as the tester can read the last 6 digits thats all that is needed for the mot as vosa only require that amount to be put in on the logging on screen at start of the test.at least its sorted now and iirc fiat will make a new vin plate for you if you take car and all docs along with ur own id but not 100% sure
my mates vin in the engine bay was missing, the mot guy said to just get a bit of alloy plate and stamp the numbers from the log book in.

yes it can be done that way but it looks like a bodge job i would much rather have the correct one made up!!!
