Car running on the hot side, you running temp?

Hey Peeps,

My car is currently running at 90 degrees on the motorway and slightly above the 90 mark while in slow moving traffic (say 1mm above 90 degrees mark).

The car just had timing belt/water pumped changed.
Radiator removed and flushed.

Also the car has a lower temp stat fitted as well ...

Is the car running hot? What are you guys running at?

Also oil temp is hitting 100 degrees ... not sure if this is normal either ....

In saying that it is a rather hot day today.

Thanks
Ming

Yeah bleed it so many times now. And this is the yellow onw only the 1108 .

Also found on the first test drive, the two pipes that goes to the heater matrix busted open due the plastic bits that connects the pipes are fooked ....

The raditor is not really on the smart side, but didn't think it could make that much difference ?

Thanks
Ming

The radiator neds cooling air passing through it. If the fins have collapsed then it won't cool as well.

Cheers

neds

Yeah only 1/2 strips have noticeable damage. Think i'll replace the radiator, see if that helps!

Thanks

Both our cinqs are running just below 90 on the motorway at the moment as its so hot.

They both have alluminium radiators in good condition and maintained cooling systems. They also both have standard thermostats.

Hi all,

my 899cc does not get up above 50 most of the time.
Makes 90 when standing still, then the fan cuts in.

Not sure if the guage is correct, at what temp. should the fan cut in?

John
