comments and questions welcome..

Yes, converted by Van Aaken themselves when car was brand new, before it was delivered to its first owner. Has ABS and air-con too :)

As much as i like the abarth interior it will be coming out soon (perhaps today). Going to fit the full interior into the cinq, the one in the 11th pic. The cinq has reclining buckets which are going in the sei, unsure if i'll fit rear seats yet..

There's many things left to do, its far from what i would call finished although i do get tempted to sell it regularly.

About bloody time is all I can say:p

I'd be tempted to leave the interior as it is TBH it is a nice original car with some nice optional goodies Which would make it more saleable if you did decided to sell up, stripped out interiors are not every ones cup of tea (ask Emm)

Flog it and buy an MX5 you know you want to:devil:

Well i have 2 complete cinq interiors so was thinking i would put cinq rear bench in it with the buckets, i have that cover in the back so you hardly ever see the rear bench anyway. Really wanted to swap the seats as the standards sit you so high up in comparison..

Yeah i still would lover a wee 5, theres some corkers on ebay at the mo..

Mate just leave the car as it is :). IS fine like that ! Well unless you find some super light magnesium wheesl :D

Anyway, did you ever find a rubber seal for the oil cooler sandwich plate? Am needing one!

Thanks
Ming

I remember having an enjoyable road trip to Glasgow with Jamie to buy this car from Donna.

I think the real beauty of this car is that it did have all the option boxes ticked, air-con & sunroof plus ABS and has all the history including the original sale invoice from Belgium iirc

So to remove interior and devalue it is silly, keep it tidy and original and it will always be an asset, start removing stuff. It's just another cheap cento.

Of course this is just my thoughts. I think we may put back the original Abarth seats in our Sei removing the granted very nice reclining OMP seats that are also slim fitting as I thin many aftermarket seats look daft in centos because they are so wide. Thetefore it all looks standard again apart from the mechanical modifications.

Just seems a bit cooler that way.

Meh, decisions  i agree with everything you said Aaron but at the same time the desire to get the centre of gravity lower in the car is great. I always said i was going to keep it standard looking and stealth which is why the buckects went in the cinq in the first place.. perhaps i'll just stiffen up the shocks and get some camber adjustment etc going on instead. That mini kept pulling me in round the bends  obviously it had no chance in a straight line.

I bought a cheapo oil filter and stole the ring from it ;) interestingly, as i have just been buying oil filters, the bosch oil filter is marginally shorter than all the ones i used before, maybe of some use for anyone building a turbo :)

They are free in Halfords ;)

Chris, been ages since I had a look but can you not make custom seat mounts and just drop the seat right down low?

P.s Aaron first dibs on these seats sure I can use them in something...

Very very nice!
I agree with Aaron, leave it as standard looking as you can!

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I always thought the Mini Clubman was the 'estate' (like the 500 Giardinera) and had the barn doors at the back?

Nope clubman is the different front end..

Whats the score with the mini chris?

Take it nothing to crazy engine wise if you pulled from it..

No 1380 or ought..

Right rolled her out again today after her winter sleep.. Mind starts stirring about what to do now and as i have a 1242 sat here thinking i'm gonna make her a 1242 high boost this summer - which has brought me to compression. I know the options but can't find figures anywhere. So few questions..

Whats the ideal compression for one of these (run 10psi on normal and 15-20psi on high dependant on mood) - i understand not how to work these things out.
My car has horrid VA machined standard pistons, anyone know what the compression is changed to by VA?
I have read many times about fitting 16v pistons in a 1242 to lower compression - what compression do they give?
