Dear Friends,

Just bought a nice Sparco ''Piuma'' footrest from their 2010 collection. It looks good, but it only came with some bolts, and no instructions.
I got hold of these mounting plates on my local hardware store :

You can see I have plenty to choose from, but I have one very simple and stupid question...How do I bolt these on the car, as I do not intend to drill holes on the car floor ?
Do I simply lift the carpet and bolt the footrest only on the carpet ?
How is this usually done, as I constantly see Cinqs with aftermarket footrests ?
Velcros and adhesive stuff is out of question, as I have a heavy foot...

Thanks for the help.

This is the footrest ( currently sprayed in wrinkle finish black, for factory look - looks like it came with the car...he he he) :

You are best to drill and bolt, or even pop rivet the plates into place.

Thanks

So, I should use rivets to fix the mounting plates to the car's carpet (not floor) and then bolts to secure the footrest to the plate. Is this correct ?
