new cam carriers, its really manky but full of oil inside

couldn't find a picture anywhere of the cam seal off a stilo with a view of the mounting points for it, im guessing it would bolt on if i got one as this looks horrible

I'd keep the standard flywheel/clutch setup as you might go for the 1368 16v later which will come with them no doubt.

re: slow build 16v cinq

haha take the equiptment home! :p:p

ive got all the stuff to do it bar spring compressor

but in college ive got all my workshop "lessons" free as ive done all the stuff not to mention the two huge AC fans:slayer:

i might put a large ish delay on fitting this as mot is on aug the 10th and have the engine in after that :chin:

re: slow build 16v cinq

been porting alot and haven't even finished the inlet side yet

i was wondering, with the valve guides as they stick out abit into the port reducing flow drastically could they be ground back ?

ive seen it done elsewhere (migweb) but is it really worth going that far ?

re: slow build 16v cinq

No they can't be ground back, if push comes to shove get your local shop to check them over after you have finished doing your headwork. I had to have 4 replaced but the original plan was to replace all of them. The head has only done 28k miles so wasn't even worn in yet so they just replaced the damaged ones for me at £4 each fitted.

They polished all my valves up for me, acid dipped the head, and reseated everything using my new seals I got with my gasket set.

Thanks

re: slow build 16v cinq

pictureless update ;)

been spending ages on the cylinder head, just dont like doing the deep in the ports as there so tiny

havent started on the wiring yet as im dreading it

valves are all in good nick just needs a clean

also is there any difference between a sporting and non sporting dash or is it just me :p?

re: slow build 16v cinq

porting has been going a bit slow as internal ports are annoyingly small

but been getting the car ready for its mot

washer not working, need new connectors to pump

rear tow eye/bumper mount badly corroded, eper sayd a temmer but im guessing its more now

and exhaust rubber mount held together with a cable tie:D

re: slow build 16v cinq

good on ya fella. ive been spending alot of time around a blue 899 (modified) and its the ultimate sleeper. they look pretty good with propper black bumpers not grey and tints...

ehe, they aren't fun to work with are they . I just took my time and plenty of steady movements as not to catch anywhere I shouldn't.

It will be worth the effort though (y).

Have you found a machine shop to tidy up and skim the head for you yet?

Thanks

re: slow build 16v cinq

thanks for the encouragement (y)

yup ive found a place locally to do the head skim, off the books;)

for the ports on the intake side im using 120, not too course to not too smooth and the exhaust is 240 and polished so should come up nicely

ive been pondering chopping off the ecu connector and splicing just that into the engine loom as the ecu connector would have the sensor wires coming off it as i havent heard or seen this done else where

also as seeing that an old panda had an attempted theft(n) i will also wire is a hidden kill switch :D
