re: slow build 16v cinq

easy to do, especially when your first view of a ribe is buried in the oily bits of the cam carriers!

If you get the code reader, pickup ring and a key then you can use the ecu for the engine. Also cut off the ecu connector from the other part of the harness.

more wiring yayyyy

not the most keen on wiring but im guessing it would be easier to use the punto loom and ecu and make up a connector (like gergor) to connect the two together, as i wouldnt want to mess up the car loom

re: slow build 16v cinq

got a set of ribe from my local dagar tools for dead on 20 so nice

got the head off today, gasket ended up stuck to both sides but bores
were spot on all i need to do now is de-coke (carb cleaner?) the head mild port n polish and skim

im unsure on the flywheels here, as far as i know the 1.2 has a 190mm clutch, is this measured by the overall circumference of where the fiction plate touches the flywheel ?

Friction plate.

Port and polish is recomended by me .

Fiat heads I wouldn't say are badly casted but are very restricted in my opinion. Removal of the cast marks and opening the chambers up a little will improve flow nicely.

Also Do a port match exhaust side using a genuine fiat gasket .

Thanks

i intend to

one thing i have noticed is how restrictive the intake manifold is especially the plastic upper section, i had a search but there were no custom made ones and you cant really port plastic

re: slow build 16v cinq

made a bit of progress cleaning today

pistons nearly cleaned, would give them a polish if i can find the paste and thumb sore from getting into the valve gaps

difference between dirty and a quick clean

wire brushed a section of the block wondering wether to paint it or not

allways loved nice clean parts

anyone got any personal recommendation's for de-coking the head, i was thinkng sand blasting but that's just daft

Just port it slightly ? Then the black carbon build up will vanish
