fiat has stitched me up good and proper. happened to mention to a salesman about getting an alarm fitted to my new seicento and he said
"dont forget if you get an alarm and it isnt fitted by us it voids your warranty"
and surprise surprise a cat1 alarm from them is about twice as much as from anywhere else! £500 and they didnt know which alarm it is they would be fitting.

Thats a load of ****** how the hell does it affect the warranty?!?

Phone up Fiat customer services to confirm this, if its not true give them the salesmans name and get them to phone him and tell him what a knob he is!

rang fiat up today they said that if the alarm is seen as the cause of the problem they wont do the work. which is fair enuff but i then said so if it isnt the cause then it still is under warranty and she wouldnt give me a straight answer.
i read my warranty book and i think they will have to fix faults unrelated to the alarm so im probably gonna go for it

Yeah, go for it....

The warrenty issue will only be with Electric Stuff the Alarm has disarmed etc.... Bascially, if your Alarm packs in they won't touch it.

Obviously, if you have a faulty wheel bearing, it'll still be covered....
