basically im debating whether to have racing/bucket seats in my seicento

i would be getting the reclining ones so people can get in the back

i would also be buying a new steering wheel, which means i would have no airbag, which kinda worries me, because if i kept just the standard seatbelt im not sure whether it would help me alot by itself in an accident,

so would a 3 point harness in a racing/bucket seat be safer than a normal seat with an airbag or is there not much difference

all replies are appreciated

i cant imagine that going down well with my parents 'when its my time its my time, nothing can stop it' haha, not the best thing to say just after ive applied for army,

i dont have a roll cage, but is it possible to refit the standard seat and seatbelts when i resell the car

the seats sit on runners so as long as you get some runners with for your buckets, theres no reason why you can't put the standard ones back in when you sell it. TBH with the airbag, I've seen a few good smashed siecento's and I cant remember seing any where the airbag whent off. bugger it, change the wheel and drive carefully. (also try to watch out for other prats that cant drive.)

ive seen quite a few smashes where the airbag has gone off, remember there only gassed to last about 10 years, so it needs re doing soon anyways probably. also with a 1star ncap tbh stop thinking about saftey, your in the wrong car! just keep a eye out haha

The pre-tensioners in the OEM seat belts are also only lifed for 10 years.

If you change any of these things you need to tell your insurance company.

I'd not have thought you needed racing buckets in a sei.

There are no "need" for any modifications, more of a "want" :p.

IMO, the seating position in a sei is just way too high to have any sort of enjoyment :(.

Hi Ming

I'll have to have Uncle David explain to you what you are supposed to do in your little car.

aye, my mate had a cinq 11 years old and the bag wouldnt work, so i dont trust them after the 10 years, so as mine is now out of that then its pretty much just a box to protect you.
