Hi
I`m really getting stuck in repairing all the problems with my cinq,i`ve got the blower motor and casing to replace and also my drivers side wiper spindle wobbles around. on strip down it looks like a spacer is missing, when you remove the linkage the passenger spindle has a black plastic spacer that goes between the spindle and the bodywork but there isn`t one on the drivers side.Should it have one?
Cheers
Adrian
P.s the original fault is the wiper spindle wobbles about in the hole no matter how much i tighten the nut.
HELP!!!!!!!! i need the car for work on tuesday and my wiper linkage is in bits on the bench.

Short answer, can't remember. but if a spacer cures the problem, then fit a spacer. Wear and tear can easily be adjusted with a spacer, and who cares if it should be there or not, at least you then won't have to pay Fiat a lot of money for a linkage.

Cheers

Hi,
Attached is a photo of the complete wiper linkage, showing the spacers as well.
Make sure the spacer is not stuck to the under side of the scuttle panel on the car.
It must have been wiper linkage weekend, stripped mine down Friday because it wobled on the drivers side, don't let it get to far as it could crack the panel, as mine has. Spent Saturday hack sawing a chunk of panel off a car in the scrappies(in the rain).

ps. Have a spare spacer, could mail it if you wish.

Thanks
Paul T

Cheers Guys
I stripped out three different linkages at the scrap yard and they all had the same problem (no spacer) I stripped mine down completly which involved hacksawing the 21mm nut off (totally overtightened ) I then cleaned out some leaves from behind the heater motor and found the spacer(result)
I`ve refitted the linkage with the spacer inplace and it works perfectly.
All this stems from the last owner having a heater matrix replacing, the garage must have dropped the spacer and just left it,they also bust a piece out of the heater box and charged him £130 for the privilage. And after all that it was only the thermostat leaking.

Hi,
Wasn't the thing I was taking about, but I do have a spare, pm your address to me and I'll stick it in the post......not much use to me as only one had gone on my linkage and I'll lose it by the time I find an use for it

The item is number 5 on the attached picture, is this correct..?
