right, put it in second gear, accelerate pedal whole way down, reach 45 in 2nd and handbrake light flashes like a bitch, just becuase of the pure force of 45 in 2nd gear??

The handbrake light is also your brake fluid warning light so you could be a little low on fluid or as you say the acceleration is causing the fluid to be forced back in the reservoir and therefore making the light come on, it is only a float that reads the level in the middle of the reservoir. I know my fluid level is fine but I can get my light to come on with heavy pedal action in any gear, including 5th, but then it is a turbo Cinq!

As above, check the brake fluid, or make sure the handbrake is sitting properly on its switch.

it may well be due to the handbrake handle shaking a bit and lifting off the switch for the light, i know mine under heavy accel lights up

thanks guys, think its maybe just the sheer power of my car LOL. had service on wednesday so brakes fluid should have been checked so must just be coming off switch a wee bit or fluid hitting resevoir, thanx again.

LOL, at the moment the Cinq's as quick as I can push it in and out the garage untill the new head goes on! Might see if I can push it fast enough to get the light on!

Mine comes on on really cold days. It intermittently flashes randomly between dull, bright and off. Usually a good pump on the pedal sorts it. Plenty of fluid in the resi. Just have to wait about half an hour for it to stop messing around.

Would need some wires attached to engine and stuff?

Depends. Remove the centre vents and see if there's a 4 wire plug sitting there ready - if there isn't then it's much more complicated.
