The handbrake light is also your brake fluid warning light so you could be a little low on fluid or as you say the acceleration is causing the fluid to be forced back in the reservoir and therefore making the light come on, it is only a float that reads the level in the middle of the reservoir. I know my fluid level is fine but I can get my light to come on with heavy pedal action in any gear, including 5th, but then it is a turbo Cinq! :D
 
thanks guys, think its maybe just the sheer power of my car ;) LOL. had service on wednesday so brakes fluid should have been checked so must just be coming off switch a wee bit or fluid hitting resevoir, thanx again.
 
Mine comes on on really cold days. It intermittently flashes randomly between dull, bright and off. Usually a good pump on the pedal sorts it. Plenty of fluid in the resi. Just have to wait about half an hour for it to stop messing around.

Dont know mite have asked this ages ago, cant remember, does anyone know if i can attach a sporting rev counter up were the sportings have them?
Would need some wires attached to engine and stuff?
 
Cheers pete, will try have a look when my thumb gets better, swell up like a bitch, mite be broke :s So cant do anythingwith that hand :( and car is stinkin was gona give it a wash 2day.
