I'm taking my Cinq. to Longlife for an exhaust next week.

They've quoted £120 for the back box, which is pretty damed good for a custom-made stainless, including fitting.

However, they want £260 incl. the centre box and flexi pipe.

I was wondering if I could just get a straight-through fixed stainless pipe put on instead.

Any ideas?

Cheers,

Steve.

for the center box yes you can have that replaced with stainless pipe but its advised to keep the flexipipe as it helps with movement in the exhaust

cheers

the flexi pipe allows for movement in the exhaust like sway a solid pipe may crack id just remove the centre pipeor middle box which ever name is correct and maybe get a interchangeable decat pipe
i have a hole in my flexi and just been advised to get another

cheers

Just tell them u want a stainless cat back exhaust. they will give you the flexi bit.

That's what they want around £260 for, though... including the back box.

I'm not paying £140+ for just a middle box / flexi bit - not when pattern standard bits are 30 quid.

To be honest, once that is fitted, you don't have to worry about rusty exhaust again!

Why not just tell them to do a middle sction in non-stainless ? or buy the mid section and tell them to fit it all together.

No point in replacing what's on the car - there's nothing wrong with the existing flexi section.

I'm just amazed that they charge so much to replace the middle bit with what's essentially just a stainless copy of the original - I'm not convinced that it's worth paying a lot for flexi-pipes, as they'll all eventually need replacing no matter what they're made from - corrosion isn't usually a problem with the mesh / flexi bit.

I'm convinced the last system I bought replaced the flexi with a fixed pipe.

I've just phoned Longlife in Hayes (NW London) and they've quote me £190 for a rear box only.:mad:

Just checked their website and it states backbox from £139.

Let's see what quote they come back with via email.
