Hi, I'm new to the fiat forum but have been enjoying fiats since i was 17. Some 15 yrs ago i successfully swoped my 1.3 uno turbo lump for a later 1.4. I find myself now with a dead sciento and a mechanically sound punto 1242 sporting, My knowledge of fiats suggests the transplant is not impossible but have been advised that there are slight differences in engines boxes from different years of punto and before getting to work check mine is a suitable donor, its 2000 model, has hydraulic clutch(unlike my sciento) and 6 speed box. The threads i,ve read all seem to be track cars running throttle bodies, I'm trying for a nippy road car 90bhp? with as little complication as possible.
My only fear is the electrics as i needed help with my uno lump swop so any help/advice would be appreciated.

is the punto 8v or 16v.

is the seicento SPI or MPI.

Anything is possible, i run a 1.4 16v engine in my cinq.

I think he got a Mk1 punto sporting 1242 16v. Yup yup is doable regardless if it is an 8 or 16v.
