Right, well as i have time at themo imightas well start the thread. As some of you may know im definately going to be fitting the 1.4 stilo engine in the cinq. Its currently running a 1242 with many mods, so a good starting point as i already have the marea brakes (same as GT brakes), 14" wheels and a full apex kit.

In a month or so i will no longer need a car as i plan to move above my work premises, so it has to be done.

Have started buying bits for the new engine. As i go i will i will include prices as i have nothing to hide. It also gives a slight insight into the real costs involved. Once im done i will not be adding it up though.

So far i have already bought:

supersprint manifold deigned for a 1.2 16v punto (code SUP814401 ) This worked out at £344 including delivery from Gazella, who had it with me within 24 hours of ordering. http://gazzella.cc/cart.php?target=product&action=view&product_id=17218&category_id=1212

Oil filter (fits all 1.4 stilo, grande punto and 500) £7.50 delivered from ebay. Code WL7252

Bosch Super4 plugs for a FIAT STILO 1.4 16V 04-08 (code yr78x) £18 delivered from ebay.

Fuel Pressure Regulator with Gauge - Universal fit from ebay (nicenewcar). Looks very good quality and a good alternative to the SARD FPR's. £27 delivered.

BMC CDA filter from ebay. As new £40 (bargain)

Graphite manifold wrap (10m) to stop hoses melting if they touch the manifold. Ebay £15 delivered.

20 x Stainless steel cable ties for the above. £7 delivered from ebay.

2 x Silkaflex sealant (similar to tiger seal) for the engine mounts and anything else i feel it would benefit. Ebay £7 delivered.

Water pump to fiat fiat panda, stilo, etc (ETL PART No EWP069) Ebay £26 delivered.

New Walbro Fuel pump designed for fiat barchetta etc. (Code ESS-452). I bought this on the offchance it will be u to the job and will fit as it only cost £19 delivered via ebay.

Magnecor KV85 Ignition Leads for a Fiat Punto mk1 Sporting. Brand new via ebay for £25 delivered :D:D (bargain)

I also managed to get hold of the 1.2 punto sporting ECU, inlet manifold, engine wiring loom, fuel rail and alternator all for £40 as i had to remove all myself.:p

MPI seicento strutbrace from strutbracer.co.uk for £83 delivered: http://strutbracer.co.uk/page1.php?sitepage=4&partid=245&modelid=274&manuf=26

I also purchased the same connects from Greencotton that Aaron used in one of his threads. This worked out to be around £37 delivered (but have not recieved yet and has taken very close to a month so far, but have been told 3 times now it will be in stock in 2 days)) Good job im not in a rush.

1.6 bravo Throttle body via fiatforum classifieds for £27.50 delivered. As pictured here: https://www.fiatforum.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=57108

Think thats about it. Oh and i managed to get hold of front and rear abarth bumpers to match my skirts. Just need a bit of sanding and painting (both for about £10) :D:D:D

Plans for when i have the engine are to lighten the flywheel and have the head ported polished and skimmed. I am also going to flow the inlet before fitting if i can find out what size i should increase the ports to. Not sure at the mo as i think the gaskets are different to the 1242's. If anybody has any ideas on this please let me know as id like to get this done while i have a car.

Many thanks to Aaron, kriptip and arc and many others for their very informative threads and yes ive stolen lots of ideas. :worship:

Also thanks to everybody that pushed me in this direction in my previous thread on what to do.

And for anybody wondering what the engine looked like thats coming out to make way:

 that's gotta be some sort of record for them!

Happy to help (y)

Have a read of this re the fuel rails / injectors.

I do plan on doing a wiring 'guide' in here if its that easy. I have no idea how im gonna do the wiring yet but whats the worst that can happen. lol

Yes was really impressed with gazzella. Remember using them for my old cinq a few years ago and spending alot of money. Main reason i phoned was to see if they had it in stock before ordering. They still had it on record and even gave me a discount if i paid via bank credit. Paid at 3pm and recieved at 10am the next morn. Superb

Green cotton on the other hand are ****. Phoned them again to ask when it was going to be delivered now expecting to be told another cople of days for a 4th time, but no they offered to post half my order and the rest would be 3 more weeks So thats refunded now. Think ill look into the red 90 degree hose that arc uses. A link where you got it from would be good as the lengths after the bends vary quite alot. :)

Yes i know, was tempted by megasquirt but not clever enough. :D

ECU has been used several times to great success. Mainly in poland i believe.

So arc with the injectors, currentl;y your running the 1.2 16v brava fuel rail with 1.4 16v injectors in the 1.2 16v punto inlet manifold. Did you do anything with the seating in the end?

That's right yeah. I didn't do anything with the seating in the end, they seat fine - no leakage, and spray must be fine as each cylinder burns cleanly.

Am buying the 5/16's fuel hose inc a bit of shiny hose for the engine bay and will cross fingers.

With the FPR am i right in thinking that this is how it connects:

FPR.png

This means that whatever i set the guage to will be the pressure in the system. So if set to 35 PSI then the injectors have 35 PSI available to them when they are told to open by the ECU. This means that when foot is to the floor and the ECU is telling the injectors to stay open it can flow fuel at up to 35 PSI? (ignoring resistance, etc)

On the FPR i also have another smaller connection. Not quite sure what that would connect to. Diagram is useless that came with it.

Have bought:

9m of 8mm Fuel hose (should be plenty) £16

5x 8mm hose joiners from autoperformanceonline via ebay, £7

1x 8mm metal t-piece £5

1m of 304 grade braided hosing for fancy engine bay looks, hence the joiners. From jbimotorsport on ebay £10 delivered

As previously shown, 1x sfs induction hose in black (£23ish delivered)

Finally got a refund from green cotton. phoned up a couple of days ago to find that they had not processed the refund that they said they would last week. So avoid these liars like the plague. (y)
