Right converting my cinq from spi to mpi just trial run before freshly rebulit engine goes in and i have all the bits required but my question is where the fuel hoses connect to the pressure regulator which one is the supply and return pipe, i have a good idea but just need to double check. The fuel rail/manifold assembly is off a punto 75 if that helps.

Must change head ,pump ,preferably ecu,for what its worth the punto 60 ecu will run SPI or MPI with only one wire modification the punto 75 ecu will only run MPI.:)

Cheers guy's. Forgot abotu the head :bang: Is it really worth converting spi to mpi on a cinq or am i just really waisting my time on this one, thinking ive come up with another bright idea that isnt so bright :)

Right my thoughts are staying spi for now. If there are little/no gains then its not worth the hastle is it really, Thanks guy's for the advise.

THE conversion isnt worth doing on an 1108cc 54bhp as no gains. you can fit the punto 75 CAM for a bit more pwr .Or fit the punto 60 1242 60bhp useing all of the cinqs ancilleries inc the ecu, but better to use the punto 60.However once you have a 1242 in the only way to get the punto 75 (75bhp)preformance is to convert to mpi,not sure about the emissions comment ime sure it helps but the 15bhp increase cannot just be atributed to the cam and ecu.IF i am wrong please let me know i can stop my conversion then. lol. By the way i have a 1242 SPI. complete engine only 6months after rebuild including 866 punto cam for sale. (still in car) i am building NEW unit. :)

The Punto 75 1242 does get some of its extra power from the inlet, but the head layout also contributes.

The MPi 1108 has the same specific output as the SPi 1108, so in this application it was for emmissions.

Cheers

if you want mpi, stick in a 1.1 mpi
if you want more donkeys, stick in bigger engine ie punto 75 with mpi
hardest thing i found putting in the 75 lump was massacring the wiring to meet up with cinq multi pin socket and what wires did what.
not only that but its 75ish horsepower there with the exhaust manifold.
job done:slayer:

Cheers for th input guys, think ill start building up the bits i have for the ultimate 1242 well in my opinion anyway and go from there. Cheers peeps :)

IF you plug a punto 60 ecu into a cinq loom it will run SPI, add an ignition feed to pin 26 (orange/black wire) in cinq plug it will run MPI. the pinouts for the three ECUs in question are identical. However the punto 75 ecu does not use pin 26 so the wire in the cinq plug dedicated to this pin must be cut from the plug and an ignition feed connected to the wire end (not plug end) this will now run MPI.
