The bracket that pivots between the rod and cable has today snapped can this part be replaced or do I need to get a whole new mechanism, not had time to dismantle it yet. Clutch was not stiff is it a common problem.

Hi welcom to the forum, yep this is one of the worst designs made, they normally snap tho as a symptom of the clutch gettin ready for changing, or maybe the cables getting old. anyhow, there only £5 or £6 quid from the dealers and they notmally keep them on the shelf. there not hard to change but there not fun.

Thanks for that Benjammo will get bit tomorrow and look forward to a fun filled saturday morning fitting it.

Is this the quadrant that turns the action from across to up and down?

This is available as a part.

If its the rod that goes across, not available as a part, nip to the recycler to get one.

As mentioned, you will need a new clutch sooner rather than later.

Cheers
