Mate I'm almost 100% sure it only an allen key to remove the TB from the inlet manifold, as its held in place with a couple of long allen bolts.

All of the electrical sensors that connect to the TB can just be unclipped, but you'll need (I think its a 10mm) spanner to loosen the accelerator cable and remove that from the TB end.

Yeah the fuel lines etc can just be cut through, and then you can carefully remove then once you have got the TB back home.

Oh and you'll also need the 10mm spanner to take the airbox off, if it isn't off already.

Don't think you need an allen key... sure it's just a few bolts

Try and keep all the pipes if you can get them off

yeah you do, its around 8mm i think

the bolts that secure the TB to the inlet fannymould

Well i got one, its was alread off the car which is a bonus, i got the spacer to but someones written punto 1.1 on the spacer, so i dunno if its the right one, even tho the scrappy said it was.

So to check can anyone tell me wats the diameter of the hole on the spacer, my tb hole is 35mm and the spacer is 32mm is that correct? The bolts and holes line up so im guessing its right if its 32mm.

This will be going on sunday cant wait ill report back wit results.

Oh btw it cost me £50 for a drivers side headlamp (to test angel eye on) and the tb, would of been 60 if bought seperatly 20 for the lamp and 40 for the tb. Good deal i think.

You measuring the TB bore from the underside? That spacer is right, hang onto that!lol

That sounds bigger than it should be. If you have the time to bore out the spacer to 35mm, go for it. Unless any of the techies on here would advise otherwise?

if its a punto 1.1 spacer it'd be the same as the cinq..

the hole in the base of the TB should match that of the spacer..yeah
Maybe they wrote the wrong name on it, the hole in the spacer is defenatly 32mm and the cinq one is 30mm correct

Doesn't the colour of the spacer denote which TB it belongs too?

Liam
If thats the case this one i got is a sort of redish brownie colour.

K just compared it to the one on my cinq at the mo, everything is exactly the same all the hoses and fixings in the correct place just a bigger bore, could be intresting wit 35mm, wen i put the spacer up to the tb i can feel inside there is a sort of lip, where the spacer hole is a couple mm smaller.

If the underside of the TB is 35mm diameter, you really want the spacer to have a hole diameter of 35mm as well.

Otherwise if the underside of the TB is 35mm and the spacer is only 32mm there will be a step and this will effect the air flow and cause turbulence, thus slowing the air down and reducing performance.

I'd recommend enlarging the hole to 35mm diameter (the same as the TB) so there is NO lip and there is a smooth transaction between the underside of the TB and the spacer, thus allowing the air to flow as fast as possible and reducing the amount of turbulence.

As far as I can remember I think the 1242 spacer is black in colour and not the redish colour you were talking about. But feel free to correct me.

If you look at the throttle Body you just bought it should have the size of the butterfly stamped onto it. I've included a picture of its location (thanks to Pete I might add (thanks mate ;)) so if you look there you should be able to see what exactly what throttle body you got.

Also Dave (Peaster2k) has ordered a new 1242 TB spacer from Fiat and is sue to pick it up in the next couple of days, so as soon as he does, I'm sure he'll measure his for ya so that you know if you have got the correct spacer etc.

Right Cheers Brain you have done it again and it says 32mm, Stupid tape measure must wrong  cause it still read 35mm.

Anyway this does mean i have the wrong spacer as there is still a lip all the way round it, so it obvisouly does mean i got a 1.1 spacer and not a 1.2.

Ill be going back round there tomoz and get the correct one. Stupid fooool :bang:

Not a problem mate, I'm happy I could help.

I'm glad you've got the correct TB anyways, but it sounds to me as if you have got the Punto 1.2 spacer instead of the Punto 1.2 spacer.

I'm sure the spacer your after should be black in colour, and if the scrapyard hasn't got one in, I think they're about £5 from Fiat if you need to order one in.

Glad I could help.
