recently im finding it hard to put my car in reverse.all the other gears are fine its just reverse it seems like there is something blocking it off. i only had a new clucth a few months ago so i dont think its that can anybody help?

There's an inhibitor cable up the front of the gearstick, if it's snapped or loose then you won't get reverse. If it's shot and you decide to fiddle it 'pulled' all the time, you will get reverse but not 5th.

Got the same problem . Finally got the wife's Cinq back on the road after a scare in Coronary Care recently!! Long story!!

In my case, I dropped the whole engine gearbox and drive shafts out and disconnected the gear linkages etc. Is it possible this has caused the inhibit cable to become detached at the gearlever or something? Does anyone have any pics of what I need to look at/for??

I had this too after a new clutch was fitted, the cable had stretched slightly so it was filled back out with washers so i can select both reverse and 5th, its only a temp measure though am sure
