About 2 months ago I was horrified to find out my Cinquecento's head gasket had gone, so it was repaired, along with a full service (mechanic said the entire oil and water system was completely contaminated). The mechanic told me to bring the car back after 500 miles for another oil change. I've done about 700-800 miles since then (oops). I will be sending it in this week.

About a week ago my 1997, 1.1 Cinquecento starting making some weird noises. The only way I can describe it is like a strange, whuuuring noise (think of the creepy sound that wind makes when its travelling fast, and make it a bit more 'enginey', and you got it) on the drivers side, under the bonnet (I believe it's the side the cambelt is on). The whuuring seems to increase and decrease, depending on the speed of the engine, so I'm pretty sure it's something to do with the cambelt. I don't think it is the engine, because the noise isn't coming from that area. The thing is, I'm planning to drive up to Birmingham and back on Friday, and I live in gloucester; it's about an hour drive. Would the car be ok you think if I can't get the oil change done? It drives perfectly fine, and I havn't had any problems with the whuuring...engine stays at a good temperature all the time.

Any help is appreciated :)
