Ok so my water Pump's gone and my local friendly garage can't do it till next thursday.....

So any hints as i've got the help of a friend who's very handy with a spanner???

I'm also changing the Cambelt at the same time and tensioner....

(Will also change me wiper motor with it as well.lol)

its very straight forward to do. haynes details it pretty well. the only problem i had was getting the bolts off the auxiliary drive belt - it needs a spanner to be wedged in it to stop it turining.

Do i need to buy a new auxiliary drive belt as well then?!

na, you just need to undo its drive to be able to get the bottom half of the cam belt cover off

My cambelt cover is broken anyway.lol

Any idea where to get a new one i've tried the usual sites......

Yeah or not as apparently there are no wiper motors available in the whole of europe........

One blast on the ineternet superhighway and there's one sat in my room!

why not just leave cambelt cover broke if you are buying my 1242 75 engine soon?

Might as well get a drive belt too, £4 or £5 quid, when everything is done you can forget about it for a few years.

will a 75 engine go into a cinq??

the bottom half will, then u use the head from the 1108cc with the cam from the 1242 75

and whats the horses out of that?? does it stay at 75 or does it drop because of the change in head??

(is the 75 the mpi one from the punto sporting??)

its from a 75 elx mpi a poor mans sporting

its like using a punto 60 (1242 spi) engine with a punto75 cam. the 75 was MPI, so the bhp from a 1242spi with a 75 cam would be between 60 and 70

no £300 would be too much for a 60, i got a 60 with 60,000 on it, its waiting for me to put it in a 55s punto, but if you can get your 1.1 lump out and come swop, i will part exchange it for £200 + your 1.1

Tbh i don't think it'd would be practical to get my engine out first as I was gonna use my car to transport the 1242....

Well yeah that's not the prob it's 200quid and my engine as well as a trip to the other side of london....

It'd prob work out cheaper to get one delivered.....

includes inlet maniflold and the bigger 60 spi throttle body scrappy charge an arm an leg for them
