My Cinq has a really bad misfire when it is cold. Its getting much worse now the mornings are cold and damp. I've tried changing the plugs and leads but it has made no difference. The car is totaly standard - anyone got any ideas what I can try next? The misfire goes once the car has warmed up.

Its not using any coolant at all and a compression test shows everything ok. Could it be a faulty coil pack?

Hi,
Just a quick question, did you do the compression test with the engine hot or cold ?, if the problem is only when the engine is cold it could be a sticky valve......

I have got similar symptoms to you. My problem is with the coil(s), causing it to misfire. My mpg is just under 30 at the moment! , getting it fixed soon though.

The compression test was done with the engine cold, and the injection light is not staying on any longer than usual. The fuel consumption seems normal.
The misfire was alot worse this morning, I suppose that whatever is failing is about to expire.
