Hi. Problem just occured this morning on way to work. I have Sei 98 S SPI sporting. The engine will not rev past 3 - 3.5 k revs. It feels like a rev limiter has cut in. I tired agian at lunch from cold and it revved much higher but gradually got worse again as warmed up.

Happens in all gears. Runs ok below these revs (i.e no misfires etc)

The management light is not lit up. Starts ok and idles ok.

I have a quick look to check all the connections are as they should be and seems ok.

I've searched a few threads and Lambda sensor seems favourite (and puts the car in limp home mode ??). Is there any way to test these myself (volt meter/ohms meter) without replacement ?

Any pointers appreciated....

Cheers

Tony:)

Cheers. I didn't take it too high..honest!!! Just enough to see if revs were ok...I have a used (good?) lambda from engine change. I'll try it tonight.(y)

Does the mangement light come on when you turn on the ignition key and then go out after a few seconds?

Is the air filter clogged up? Try it with the exhaust dropped off at the manifold maybe see if its a blocked up cat...

Pep0 - Yes light comes on when started then goes out ok.

Ffoxy. Wondered if maybe cat, but when i've experienced them before they are through full rev range....

I'll try lambda tonight and see if any improvement..
