hello guys, im new here.

im pulling my hair out with my p-reg 1.1 cinq sporting. the fuel injector light on the dash is constantly on, when starting cold, starting hot, and also when driving. it never goes off put does'nt really seem to affect performance or starting what so ever. it has been like this for a while now. the only thing i have noticed is that on the odd occasion, when started it will stay at 2000 revs for a good few minutes even if the engine is alredy warm.

i have read all the other threads related to this but everybody seems to be having different syptoms. any ideas?

cheers, chris.

If you have a multi meter please measure the resistance of the coolant temperature sensor when the engine is cold and after a run.

ok mate thanks. is that sensor located on the side or the rad or ...?

theres a cable with a blue head on it which looks like it plugs into somewhere but it is just hanging loose at the minute, i cant find anywhere, (that it could reach) for it 2 plug into. i will try and get a picture up of it. could that be the 1?

its coming off a bunch of wires, just to the right of the air filter but lower than the filter

On the back of the inlet manifold, I'm guessing there will be a blue connector with nothing attached, unless, its been broken off.

You might just see a brass coloured nut screwed into the manifold.

If so, don't remove it until you've got a new one.

Cheers

ok, is that brass coloured nut thats screwed into the manifold, the coolant sensor? iv took a picture of the only wire i can see that is not connected. is there any chance it could be the lambda sensor, as this seems to be common?

Lambda is a common failure, but you are expecting miracles if you want the car to run properly without a very vital component contributing.

We know its not the lambda because it only works when warm, your light is on the minute you start.

It is definately the temp sensor wire connector that you have pictured, so look under the air filter and attach it back on to the sensor sticking out of the inlet manifold.

Cheers
