hi i am not very knowledgeable about the speakers in the car but i want to upgrade the ones in the dash board. so what size are they and can i have any recomendations below 100 quid please am on a budget.

You can use any 10cm speaker to replace the standard front ones, except those that have tweeter units pretruding further out than level with the edge of the cone. They fit straight behind the standard grills, you can get a good pair for £20-£30

If you want a real noticable difference in sound i would reccommend larger diameter speakers for the rear as even the best 10cm speakers in the front wont sound like a great improvement over the standard ones

:) I would get yourself some 6x9's in't parcel shelf. There not expensive & you get much better sound quality. You wont get much bass out of a 10cm speaker. You can fit q.d connecters to the cables so that you can remove the parcel shelf for security/extra space.

If you are just looking for a replacement speaker for the front as a starter as I would go with other recommendations of 6by9's rear, then these new speakers from Blaupunkt are very good. They have a ultra flat mounting depth, which is ideal, and although they have a slightly protruding tweeter you can still get the Fiat grills over the top. I have them in my Cinq & have found them to be superb for the size with very little distortion even at very high sound levels, which is on account of the 40W RMS nominal or 120W Max handling capacity.

These are probably one of the more expensive speakers for size on the market but worth it for the quality. I also have the 6by9's from the ODx range which again are very good

This company sells Bluapunkt fairly cheap when you consider the price includes delivery.

And this tells you how they get such shallow mounting depths with high quality sound reproduction.

i`ve got the vibe SA40`s, they`re quality. £65 they cost me, well £55 cos halfords gave me a discount :D only problem is that i cant get the grill over them cos of the tweeter. they are 45w standard and can be amped to 135w.

i have some kenwood 6*9's on the rear shelf and some kenwood 10cm on the front dash now. The new ones i have fitted are kenwood ones and they sound much better. I fitted a panasonic cd player instead of a tape unit and that annoying crackle has gone, i may get better ones another time but these suit me fine.
