Hello, now last week when it was very frosty I scraped my window and turned the front wipers on. The wiper got stuck in ice for a while, then it wiped the window and reset. All of a sudden I could smell burning through the heater! I have gone and blew the wiper motor!!!!!!

Now I have got a quote for the motor to be replaced and was told its £115 for the new motor and god knows how much for labour costs!! Now I thought this was a bit steep myself? What do you think? Has this happened to anyone else?

.

Price is about right for a new fiat part. Labour is about an hour. the same thing happened to my daughter's cinq, except she had just left the wipers switched on. Its a poor design that the motor burns out and not just a fuse blowing. I got hers fixed yesterday, Motor assembly £40 labour £20, all done at a local friendly breakers.

Big learning point - dont leave wipers on when parking up for the night.

Got the price down to £80 elsewhere (parts and labour) which is better than I was quoted before!

Look around, thats my advice.
