Can someone please help me,
I have just got a cinquecento (m-reg, 899cc) as my run around car.
I am after some wider wheels, having alloys don't concern me, in fact i'd prefer steelies (insurance purposes, already got one car costing a fortune & can't afford to spend any more on this car). I am looking at getting some off a car in the scrappy, so is there anyone who knows what car has the same fittment as the little fiat, and how wide it can be without rubbing.

Its a good plan, shall have to ring insurance company, see if it affects my premium, really really skint at the mo, just can't be arsed with the monumental understeer on roundabouts!
Was hoping to get some steelies so could just put trims back on, no-one will know the difference unless they are in the know.

Cheers Mate (y)

The height of the suspension is more the culprit of your understeer.

You could maybe buy some 20mm or 30mm sporting springs to sort things out.

I dont think yu'll get 185's on Steelies... 155's definately (I think my old one has them on!) Possibly 165's too, but I think 185 is a bit wide really!

Get some steelies off a brava or something they are 14" about 5.5 to 6 inch wide. They would do nicely with some 185/50's on. Why do people insist on telling their insurance companies. Isn't their version of daylight robbery enough.

..because your insurance can be declared void if you don't. Not what you need if someone gets injured and claims against you, or you poke it up the back of an expensive motor.

(edit)

The car, I meant poke the car up the back of.... oh, forget it!

Brilliant :D

Yeah, Insurance fraud isnt something Id really want to be lumbered with..

I like the idea of the Brava/o Steelies...

i neve said put 185s on the steelies, i was just stating that you can oversize the tyres and was showing that mine were 20mm wider than std..

185s on steelies would be what 40mm over std?

Failing that, i've still got a set of 4 Cinq Sporting alloys for sale with 175/50/R13 Continental tyres on, tyres in great condition and they're superb for wet roads too.

Drop me a P/M if you're interested!
