With having the fan set to cold recently it's started snowing inside my Cinq, so I've been trying to remove the heater matrix (or at least slide it out a bit) to check it before buying a new one.

I've taken the three screws out but it seems to be stuck solid - I've tried cutting around the foam/gasket but I can only get at the bottom and front edges.

Any hints, other than remove the whole heater box or radweld (used it before for the radiator, only lasts so long and leaves a mess in the header tank), otherwise I might have to buy a new matrix anyway and nibble the plastic away from the old one with some pliers then clean up the box.

I refer the honourable member to the answer I gave earlier.

Guessing its a Sei.

Hot/cold not working, cock trouble.

Don't rip the dash out, heater comes out from engine side.

:yeahthat:

Assuming the Sei heater box is the same as a Cinq one, take the strip off along the scuttle panel, battery and both halves of heatproofing partition out, three screws on the side of the matrix with the pipes coming out, swearing, prying, swearing, prying, swearing.....

[5 hours later]

Then it pops back in the same way. Expect a little bit more white stuff through the vents (ahem) in the coming months as the dried on coolant inside the box from before gets dislodged when driving over bumps etc.
