As above at the end of the my insurance year - which is July I would really like to get down to doing my car up more seriously - with more serious stuff..... Anyway ive got a Janspeed backbox but to add more sound and power i'd like to get the cat back kit but minus the backbox as i already obviously have the backbox.... any help/advice much appreciated.

Cheers fiatash123

could you explain whats cat back kit ?????

in slovakia are cops interested in your mods, not insurance-insurance doesnt care-unless something really bad happened

I think best possible mod is racing exhaust without any cat, or just replace cat with piece of pipe :D

Slovakia :S im from england lol dont know where that came from :S.

Everything from the cat backwards basically.

I know, i just want to get rid of the pre silencer - i think thats what it is the first big bulge after the backbox does the janspeed one have that.

Yes the Janspeed is a twin box system (one small box in the centre section and the backbox). I've had both mild steel and stainless versions.

But on the Stock there seems to be quite a large box which i think is a pre silencer which is the first box after the backbox does the janspeed have this?

FTR 19 is the bit im talking about is that a presilencer? Does the janspeed come with that?

:D just saying its a bit funny that insurance have something to do with exhaust, quite funny for me :D

if u cant find janspeed middle section alone, try supersprint-or u can mod it yourself-need solid exhaust and good welder

Aaah right i see i thought u thought that i was from slovakia... yeah english insurance is a right pain in the ar5e......

I just want more of a straight through system than have all the bits in between, it should run better then right?

may be get that super sprint mid section with the box?

As i said already the middile section from janspeed is exact same as the standard item but made in stainless.

Ah okay i see, what is in that box that i mentioned above?? Can you take it apart? If it has baffling or something in it cud i take that out to let flow a little better? or is it not a pre silencer at all

first pic above is janspeed then supersprint(janspeed is sold only as set box+centre)

"I just want more of a straight through system than have all the bits in between, it should run better then right? "

-manifold and cat converter will block it in the front, i think centre silencer is not making big difference

noise depends on the backbox, my current system has the janspeed midsection and a custom rear box, and its prity loud:) ive had systems without a center silencer and its been quite(for me)

sorry to hijack this thread... but what size bore is the janspeeds etc exhausts? Think making my exhaust from 2" will make it to loud as there isnt enough gases been silenced by the boxes causing it to resinate. Could make it from 1 1/2 or 1 3/4, but like i say, it'd be good to know the size of other pipes. Its for a 900cc btw, and before you comment on why not buy a standard one on a useless, powerless car... its because its not much more to make a nice stainless one:)

Cheers, Josh

right... just looked and i have 1 1/2 all the way through so seems pointless to replace it with another one the same. looked at the flange to and it appears i can get a 2" flange and still have enough material to be safe around the edges/studs:D Sorry to hijack your thread again.
Cheers, Josh

A 2 inch bore is waaay too large for the 899. You'll end up losing power.

It is entirly possible, but being the amount of exhausts we have made at work for tuning purpose's (fast road/race cars)... We would be able to come up with a design that would at least not lose power. The reason i want to make it from 2" is that i can then sell it to the tub lads if i deceide to end my cinq life after a year of driving.
