hi all, i have a cinqucento sporting and im having power problems.

when i drive it sometimes, when you put your foot down to pull away theres not always full power. what could be causing this.

Hi

On my workstation there is a dotted underline for buzz words like MPI - multi point injection - if you hover your cursor it tells you what the buzz word is, I think the MPI have a flat spot at 2000rpm when cold, donno my SPI is real slow off the mark, until you get it into 2nd gear >3000, even when warm, slugs are us.

MPI= Multi point injection

But your car is SPI (single point injection)

All cinqs are SPI. MPI doesnt have the flatspot either as that was ironed out, if you are suffering a flatspot on an MPI it isnt a flatspot its something totally dofferent that is the problem

i would go with diawiks suggestion to start with (a service)

If this has already been done recently get back to us

i heard there is a pipe that goes from somewhere to the ecu, something to do with the pressure and amount of fuel that gets used.

could it be that.

have you had a service? start with that first no point trying to guess at this moment in time

car was only serviced a little while ago. and i could swear i have a multi point injection. any one got a pic of them both, will be able to tell you.

nope you dont, MPI didnt begin in the FIRE engines till Oct 2000

cinq production ended 2 years previously at the very least so no way you have MPI unless car has been modified

in that case a suggestion of your problem is a possible leak from pipes e.g the vaccum pipe, would get them checked out, other suggestions from others will be made

am i right in saying the correct tension on the timing belt is when you can twist the belt about 90 degrees????

https://www.fiatforum.com/cinquecento-seicento-guides/100553-cam-belt-change-gars3.html#content_start

"now adjust the tensioner up to remove all slack from the belt and tighten the 13mm bolt to hold it in place.
the belt shouldnt move more than 90o when twisted at the tensioner.
if its too tight or slack then readjust the tensioner."

any chance to find if it not slipped without removing covers??? or only by poor power???
