There is no preload adjustment on Sei tappets, only on Cinq ones.
If the Diesel flush doesn't work, (I've never tried it myself) remove the throttle body and rocker cover, remove the rocker shaft, taking care to undo all the bolts a bit at a time so as not to bend the shaft.
On a sei the tappets pull out of the bottom, wheras on a cinq they come out of the top and are retained by a clip.
Pull them all out, and leave to soak in engine degreaser overnight (or coke)
then get them all freed up nicely and the pistons working smoothly.
Any that don't spring back and extend as far as the others pull apart and check the spring at the bottom, if it's broken - replace the tappet. (£8)
otherwise re-assemble after checking that all the tappet plates (little coins) are in the rightway round and are not worn.
Reassemble, using a new rocker cover gasket if needed and away you go.
I did this to a Sei I bought that turned out to have one damaged tappet and it sounded like a tractor prior to doing it and like new afterwards.
Chances are if it's just a bit tappetty and not too loud the then you've not got broken springs.
Cinq has the disadvantahe of needing the preload adjustment set (not sure about late model Cinqs may use the Sei setup) but the advantage that you can buy a whole set of new tappetts from ebay for under £30
I have yet to fit mine.
