My driver's side wiper was hitting the rubber screen surround at the top of its stroke so I moved it one 'cog' on the spindle.
Now it hits the bottom of the screen on its downstroke!
Is there any way I can set a mid-position?

I am having problem like that with mine, nothing to do with the placing of the arm, its cos the hole that the wipermotor spline goes through is rotting away so the whole arm wobbles. hehehe

Two options

1) Make a sleeve from a piece of plastic tubing and refit the arm over it.

or

2) Carefully drill a hole in the side of the arm and screw in a self tapping screw to locate the arm on place.

or

Do both.

Then again, I suppose for a couple of quid you could buy a new one.

Cheers

Right sorry to ruin ya parade but this aint a quick job. I was having bother with mine. You need to take the whole wiper assembly out as there is too much play in the linkage allowing the wipers to move more than they should. The play comes from some rubber bushes in the linkages which luckily are cheap enough. Let me know how you get on

Hi,
These rubber linkage bushes, are they available from fiat or somewhere else.

I have the problem where the linkage has worn and cracked the panel just below the window  , got a linkage from the scrappy's but the bushes aren't that clever, but better than the current ones...
