Technical Why does my Sei seem quicker in the morning?

It's all in your head!

No, as Gaz said, cars like cooler air I do believe, however, how much of a difference this makes and how much of it is you feeling slower in the morning, who knows? My Uno had good and bad days but again, I wonder how much of that was based on me having good or bad day?!

Actually once my Punto's got to operating temperature, in the morning and I give it a bit of stick, it does feel more responsive and I can hear the air filter sucking alot more....

This means I can sometimes overtake the odd dustbin lorry

Hmm.... possibly could be me being a bit mental then?

(y)

I'm just wondering if i would get this sort of response if i was to get one of them 'chips' from ebay?

Any thoughts guys?

Nooooo! Not unless its a proper chip from German Ebay. The cheap £4 jobs are actually worth around 2p!! And thats a ridiculously high price anyway!!

Its a resistor that fools the airflow sensor into making the car run rich. Or it does for about 5 mins until the ECU wakes up and puts an end to that...

The German things are proper chips (usually with the Novitec map), and theyre good apparently.

But as for morning speed- once mines warm (a 4 min/3krpm thrash solves that!!) its excellent...Im really loving the backroad between my house and the uni im at. Thats definately better first thing in the morning and when warm!!!

Agreed, the 'chips' are rubbish and don't work on a cento.

You're right about it being quicker on a morning, cold dense air makes a hell of a difference on centos. That's why it's so important to have a good cold air feed to an induction kit.

Help me 'do up me motor' undercover spy style!! LOL

NB: Sei's 1st gear.... a bit gutless aint it?

theres a few induction kits to choose from and i have tried 3 of them on my sei

i would personally recommend green single cone induction kit, it feels slighty better and i think gives a better response than a K&N or the pipercross that i have also used on mine

the best indutcion kits are the ones where the cone is away from the engine, so draws colder air, GSR do one which includes all piping and cone

i have never got round to buying one of these yet, but its on my list :D

No i dont...3krpm isnt exactly thrashing...its where id normally change up if its cold, instead i just hold it there. When its warm I change at nearer 5krpm if needs be!!
