For all that, Martin hasn't broken his gearbag yet. That thing must be putting out a lot more torque than a 1.4. Driveshafts seem to be a different matter.
Just to resurect this (mainly as i've discoverd a GP 1.3MJ 90 being broken with a 6 speed box) and have LSD fitting in mind
what was the verdict in the end would the gearbag from a diesel be compatable and fit? (bolt for bolt would be good) i'm sure a turbo cinq has more than enough torque to cope with the taller gearing.
No idea, might look into this if I lose my 6 speed 'box. You'll want to check out the gear ratios & work out what the 5th & 6th gear rpms would be at sane speeds, some diesels have the boxes ratioed to give something like 1900 rpm at 70mph in top gear.
I use to have a GP MJ90 and 70 MPH in 6th was ~2.6K rpm so not much use unless i'm touring germany but it is in the torque curve so may work out as 80mph ~3k rpm (but with that gearing and my wheel size it would give a purely theoretical top speed of ~175 )
120mph that is only T rated if your tyres are anything like mine they will be V rated so good for 149mph but i agree with ARC anything over 120 in a cinq and the old bronze eye starts to wink
i yust ask something, is all c510 gearbox same.. i can put gearbox of AR 155 or tipo or those of c510 gearbox in marea 1.8 16V, and it fit inside, or must find c510 exactli for marea? hope you are understand what i need?
