I am wanting to strip down two sporting doors, but with no power supply.

is it possible to remove the windows with the motors in the down position? The door aren't on a car so are not connected to the battery

also, with the windows being down, is it possible to remove the door handles?

ALSO ;) are the windows on a sporting different colours/tints to a basic 8999?

Thanks guys

James

hi tints are the same both will have a green tint .i think you may need to unbolt the regulator and the side guides etc the pull the whole lot out together or power up the motors only two bolts hold on the glass
;)

Hi, i've just been trying this and i can't seem to get the motors past the channel (too narrow) and i can't get to the bots holding the mech to the glass as is in the down position :(

Would that mean pulling more from the front of the glass so it kind of pivots up? i can't gwt out there now but thinking how to do it tomorrow

thankis
James

You can tilt the glass either way to get to the bolts, pull it up while looking through the upper door aperture, I am sure it will become obvious. I think that once you've undone one, the glass will swing allowing the other to be accessed.

Thinking about it, are you sure they are bolted, not just sliders?

Cheers

i've undone the bolts/screws at the red dots and removed the wiring. The motor prevents movement of the glass to get the bolts

Looking at the door it's not obvious how the motor can be removed. It would come out with the regulator if that were seperated from the glass. It's not covered in the manual
