Hi all, after some weeks of thinking I think that the best thing to do to my Seicento Sporting (SPi) is to start woking on the old 1108Fire..
I'm not going to swap with the 1242 8v..

so I'm going to take a Punto1.2 Cylinder Head, I was thinking of remaining SPi (so that the police can't see any diffecence)so, is it better the 1242(punto 60) SPi head or the 1242 MPi (punto 75)??

how many hp could I lose taking the 1.2SPi cylinder head?

could I use the Punto75 cylinder head without putting the 4 injectors?

hello mate

the punto 60 spi head is nearly the same as the seicento spi head the inlet port on the punto 60 may be slightly bigger, so it would be better to use that and you won't lose any bhp. The problem you will have with the punto 75 head is that where the inlet manifold studs are different to the spi head, so you cannot put the spi inlet manifold straight onto the 75 head . your best and easier option is to use the spi head and possibly clean and modify the spi head by porting and matching the inlet ports to the spi inlet manifold.

Hope that helps

All 8V SPI engines share the same head (1.0, 1.1, 1.2, except 750cc)

Not quite. Some early Punto 60 models have smaller inlet valves. These heads have 866 cams fitted to compensate for this. The Punto 60 does have a larger throttle body fitted (32mm compared to 30mm on the SPI Centos)

well, I've got bargain of a punto75 cylinder head (with inlet port) worked out with cam shaft 11.5mm (hope you undestand because I don't know how to explain myself)
so a was thinking about taking that head but using the my Ecu (SPi)

chaos: I didn't know that

So some puntos 60 had smaller valves than 1.0 or 1.1 engines

Some time ago I did some measurements and valves on my spare 1.0 head are 32mm and 28mm IIRC. I also compared inlet ports in 1.0 head and ports in manifold from 1.1 carbed Uno FIRE. Manifold has 1,5-2mm smaller diameter of ports than 1.0 head

These heads have 866 cams fitted to compensate for this.
So we could put the 866 cam into a sei head for an easy win?

EDIT oops should have read the FAQ sorry

Take the Punto 75 camshaft, if in good condition, and put it in your 1108 SPi head after you have done some work on the head, opening up the ports and smoothing the casting.

Get the head skimmed, and use a vernier cam pulley to get the timing absolutely right.

Use a Punto 60 TB.

There will be no difference from the outside, but it will go much better.

Cheers
