note - This thread is relevant to an IAW 4AF M7 ECU

Okay, so I found the ECU on my 51 plate Abarth to be okay (bypass with the override code) and the issue seems to be with the ring sensor (ignition barrel) not communicating with the immobiliser box sooooooooooooooo -

Is the ring just a spotter (generic sensor) or is it a code reader specific to that cars immobiliser system?
Can I buy the ring alone or is it a whole new system (ECU, immobiliser and ring?) cos that's gonna cost more than the benefit it gives.

Can I purchase an ecu that will not need the immob code? (no-one seems to want to touch the M7 because of the nature of the internals)

Basically, what options do I have? and who sells parts that do not require mortgage payments?

Thanks for any info in advance guys (y)

I take that back - not a simple fix at all :D

£30 for a reader and I'm still tapping digits through the throttle pedal everytime I want to start the car.

Plugged her in and I've got the dreaded U1600 pop up!!! key/reader/immobiliser fault

Is there a cure for it yet without going to the dealer who want £82 just to plug it in let alone parts!

Or can anyone decode these ecu's yet?

Failing that, is there a Fiat dealer mechanic on here who knows the drill?:slayer:
