Basically as above, installed my tricker following custard's guide (cheers for that btw). As soon as I turn the key, the revs climb really really high really fast and tbh I got a bit scared and switched the engine off again 'cos I didn't want to kill it
I realised after a few seconds that I hadn't checked the throttle cable was positioned right but adjusted that and exactly the same on the 2nd attempt. I've rechecked over everything else to make sure my pipes/cables are all connected properly and they all seem to be. I'm not hugely tech savvy though so don't know where else to start looking ... any bright ideas?

Possibly inlet leak (check the condition of the gaskets on the TB) or vacuum leak (pipes on wrong, pipe missing, not blanked off, etc.) But reset the ECU by removing the -ive battery lead for a few minutes first.

Dinnertime soon so will have a gander afterwards. I checked the gaskets over prior to fitting and they seemed in good condition, despite being secondhand. If they need replacing where would I get new ones from?

I'm 99% certain the pipes are correctly positioned (checked the 'what goes where' guide, cheers to fingers for that) and there are none that are not connected to the relevant places. I have just noticed that the rubber OE gaskets off of the original tb are missing corners, if those had been left behind (which they may have been, I hadn't noticed) that would likely cause the paper gasket to have a small leak wouldn't it?

Thanks for all your patience!

Edit: One other quick query, in the aforementioned guide (https://www.fiatforum.com/cinquecento-seicento-guides/146381-spi-throttle-body-where-pipes-go.html) item 10 is labelled as MAP sensor take off. On the original tb there was a small vac pipe connected so some random thing inside my airbox, on the new one there is a similar vac pipe but I assume the previous owner had an induction kit and blanked this off so I have followed his trend... maybe this is where I went wrong?

Well I switched the pipes over and same deal. I'm almost certain they were the right way around before though. As much as I want it to just be a case of 'leave it a minute to figure itself out' I hate hearing it scream that much, lol

thin plastic tube that goes from the back of the TB to a plate bolted onto the ecu :)

Hmm, good question. If it's the pipe coming from #10 on the below picture, then no. It had a screw in it so I assumed it was meant to be blanked.

Gonna try switching the idle step motor (#13) tomorrow back to the original one, it's too cold and too dark to do anything now.

can't say this with utter certainty, but could be the throttle position sensor - when I disconnect mine the revs go haywire up to about 2.5k!

Well it's connected at least, but nowt to say it's not b0rked. Could be worth swapping that from the original tb as well. Will try the idle motor first and see where we go from there ...
