Hi,My Cinq(1998 sporting 1.1 SPi) starts, fires once or twice and then stops immediately.
There is always a spark, if you add fuel directly into plenum changer then engine continues to run.
Fuel pump etc. is good, there is fuel pressure at the injector.
At first i thought that it was the injector and so i changed it, but still had the same problem.
Anyone got any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your welcome and quick response!
I was thinking of trying crank sensor next. Would it be right that i had spark but no fuel with faulty crank sensor?

Hi there just want to check out whats happening the car's no ideling/ wont start up. You have already checked for fuel supply and replaced the TDC and Injector but if you pour fuel down the plenum chamber it will run. Thats a bit of a strange one. All though its a long shot have you checked the Timeing if thats ok i would suggest checking the idle control or possible the stepper motor. Hope that helps in some way. Good luck with getting it sorted

Pressure at the injector but not through the injector would suggest a triggering/supply problem.

The wee plug at the injector, is it OK, as in making contact properly.

Its earth switched so you should have a supply at it.

Cheers

Thanks everyone. Timing is definitely correct. Plug onto injector looks ok, but will have a proper look next time and check for voltage.
Will also have a look at fuel filter and pump, though there is definitely fuel pressure at injector, though i haven't measured pressure.
Starting to despair!!
