Hi, has anyone here got a sei sprayed in Matt black?

i am highly considering spraying mine in this finish as i have to respray all the car anyway...

your views of a matte finish? will it be less expensive than gloss finishes since it is 'unfinished'? any pics please bring em forward!!

I know it's not a Sei, but this is a sexy black. Is this what you had in mind?

thats precisely what matt black should look like! but on a sei :p

i have no idea about paint, but surly it would still need protecting with some sort of lacquer?

not essentially no, i know there is a way of protecting i.e against rust and such sorts, just cant remember what its called, but imo a sei in the same mattblack as the S15 would look gorgous;)

Take a look at this mate

I do like matt black, but why go to all the expense of spraying it on? You can roller it on.....

That gives a matt type finish (you can polish it to give a gloss finish) and you can do it yourself, its not as messy as spraying. I have seen one car done with a roller and it looked great. Its how loads of cars were done in the 60's as spray paint wasn't really available to the public then.

Its not actually "unfinished" and does require laquer, im afraid its more expensive as it requires a special "matt" laquer. The whole aim is to give it that "unfinshed look" but its actually a very technical and special procedure.

great help guys. best thing is to ask my sprayer for a quote. i dont really like the roller idea since paint adhesion is reduced, but still worth a look at that price!ill probably start off by spraying the skirts and spoiler to see how they turn out ;)
