Hello all
Love the site been reading it for a few months now and learned a lot already thankyou. and seen some lovely cars.
So last weekend I thought I'd have a go at some repairs on my Seicento MPi, the waterpump had gone so had a go at that. Bit of a disaster changed the waterpump ok but after putting it all back together the timing was out and it ran like a dog but the engine management light was off, so few days later read up on the timing marks and redid the timing belt. Now it runs I'd say at around 90% still has a few flat spots but the engine management light flashes permenantly. Before taking it apart and trying again are there any things I should be looking for that I might have done wrong that would cause the engine management light to flash?
Any ideas would be really helpful, not the best start on doing my own maintenance I know but you've gotta start somewhere!

Thanks All

Jeff

flashing engine light means damage to cat, although its probably poor emissions maybe something to do with the timing previously being out, would get a diagnostic in all honesty to pinpoint problem

Thanks
The EM light flashes all the time on idle and while driving, i'll try that 'phonic wheel learn' thing then see what happens, have to try evreything I can without spending, cash is a bit of a problem at the mo! Anymore ideas very welcome.

cheers all

Hooray! phonic wheel learn sorted it. Took a few attempts, wasn't revving it enough to start but when I revved it right up to the red 3 times the light went out. Running very nicely now. Onto the next problem now with a bit more confidence. Thanks for your help!

Jeff:)
