I'm building a trackday car, a cinq with a 3.0 Alfa V6 in the back.

I posted as ProjectcinqV6 a few months ago but can't seem to log in anymore so I've changed my name!

Anyway, I have a stripped out cinq, the front end (subrame with engine+box, wishbones, uprights, struts, brakes and driveshafts all mounted on it, ready to be dropped into the back of the little cinq once I've dis-respected the back end with an angle grinder. Next thing I need to do is start building the roll cage/spaceframe. I'm thinking of buying a ready made cage (OMP or Sparco probably) then building on it - it will needs lots of triangulation and more attachment points to the 'shell.

Has anyone here fitted a cage in their cinq? Got any pictures? I'm particuarly interested in the closeness of the fit, and where the front feet end up being bolted/welded to the sills.

If anyone can help me I'd be really grateful, I'm, itching to get stuck in and attack it with a grinder and nibbler but want to sort the cage first.

Cheers, keep on cinq'n.

I hope these are of some use. Note, the rear cross bar, which the belts are mounted to is an addition to the standard cage.

Cheers

Thanks, thats great, is that a manufactured cage e.g. OMP etc, or a custom job?

I think its the Sparco one, but it might be OMP. Its homologated for the car and fits really tightly around the shell. As I said above we added the rear cross bar, so a standard cage won't foul your engine.

Cheers

I didn't realise until I seen the Rallycinq with my own eyes but the dash has been cut to accommodate the A pillar supports so anyone looking for one for a road car should think about this.
