my chinq sporting has just this week started over revving at idle, between 1500 and 2000 rpm. Have checked vaccume hoses which seem to be in good working order. Any suggestions as to the cause would be be greatly recieced.

loosen the throttle cable if you are sure all the vacuum pipes and joins are intact.

Have you recently done any work on the throttle body? putting the hoses on the wrong ports can cause this.
