Right should soon be choosing my new company car so will be able to play with new cinq, its only mode of transport atm..

Sooooo, have been thinking i will take bits from the old high boost project and make this one a 1242 low boost.

So am i right in thinking that (simplified) i can just swap it all over, and turn boost down and not decomp it or is it more different than that?

Whats the overall opinion on Intercoolers and oil coolers on low boosts? I'm thinking i'll get a new smaller IC and a small oil cooler.

Should i use the uprated fuel pump on a low boost?

Standard bore exhaust or get larger one?

Chris for the hastle of low boost i'd seriously either get some 16v pistons or a decomp plate and go high boost..

Just get an electronic boost controller and wind the boost right down for daily use ;)

Even if you went low boost just stick all the high boost kit on as it is anyway it would give you a bigger safety net

Intercooler lower charge temp less chance of det.
Oil cooler with termostatic plate no problems i run the same one as the Turbo on the NA

EBC's you can pick up a good one for less than £150, Greddy Profec maybe a bit more

for the sake of a decomp plate and a vernier pulley just do it

(BTW that is the reason I'm fitting the EBC so i can rain the car in during dodgy driving conditions)

imo id rather use the 16v pistons and rods for 2reasons
1,lower compression
2,rods are lighter
but then it depends if you want to then spend more money to get it right by having the block honed and bits balanced.
How much power are you after in the end is main question?
If you need any help with bits and/or a helping hand gis me a shout i aint far from ya mate

cheers for offer mate, might just take you up on it ;)

its not gonna be a long-term project so not to fussed with messing with internals. Don't intend on keeping it for years or anything. I'm happy with de-comp plates, old 1108 high boost ran one no problems for a long time (several owners) with standard internals even with a period of running 22psi.

why u not just finish off rebuilding the red cinq u had ? then u will have 2 ????

the drive is packed with cars and will soon have another (company car) so can't keep them all. and from where i am on it, its prob less work to turbo black one.
So plan is atm to take 1108 de-comped engine out of red one and either sell or if no-one wants scrap. put PGT front brakes from red one onto new one, unto t rear brakes from old silver one on black and sell all remaining parts from silver and red and scrap whatever is left.
Leaving me with 1 turbo cinq, an escort estate for carrying things and a company car.

Pondering at the mo, its my daily at the mo so need it not in pieces.. Didn't get a company car in the end you see and have given the escort to my uncle on loan as he needed a car.

I'm toying with the ideas..
1 being buying a sei turbo with my xmas bonus and keeping the black one for my mrs when she passes her test...
another being buy my mum's punto sporting and turbo that instead.

At the mo though, nothing can happen until xmas at least, don't worry as soon as i know what i'm doing i'll post it.
