what youll think. Bit chav but it sure gets the air flowing. Going to have the whole bumper repainted soon so the silver mesh will be yellow to and wont stand out as much. :slayer:

When I bought my sei it had HORRIBLE silver mesh in there, and a job done really badly. Yours looks pretty neat.

I sprayed mine gloss black, I think that'd look quite nice on yours too dude =) not bad though.

I did think of satin black but it will be a arse to spray now the mesh is glued in!

Ive done mine for a reason also. I am running a p75 1.2 engine and it really seems to get hot under the bonnet now. bit worried about when I get it down the track.

I have also cut out all the other vents that are normaly blocked off if you aint noticed

Now try and work out a way to get the hot air out. If it can't go anywhere, then it will just stall in the engine bay getting hotter and hotter.

Funny enough I was JUST then talking to dad about this. I plan to:

vent the wheel arch liner by cutting slots and bending them to stop crap hitting the radiator.
put some washers under the bonnet hinge to lift the rear of it up. and remove the rubber seal strip. Hopefully this will make a bit of a vacume at speed to suck the hot air from the top of the engine and cold air thru the front. think it will work?

Sounds like a good idea.

I had the same problem, my mesh was bonded in, and with a struggle to remove the front bumper...it was, sorry but, it was a b!tch.

So I settled for masking it off very carefully and lining the other side with news paper so not to spray the radiator or other components =)

Your job would be better than mine I can imagine ha.

Sounds a starting point.

Only one other wee thought, if the mesh is very fine it can actually stop air coming in, so be gentle during testing till you know it cools.
