Yes the fuel price in this country is a pain, but I won't open that can of worms.

I went from a 1.2 16v sei to an Alfa 3.2 V6 and the economy is nowhere near as bad as I imagined so you should be ok! I get around 29mpg on a long run.

I kept my Sei for commuting purposes though and because I love it

That's not bad at all -- high boost tub territory. On t'other hand, you might expect tyre wear to be an issue with the GTA.

as for MPG
my 206 is only averaging 32mpg (24 round town)
The Turbo Cinq 32mpg
The 3.2 Cavalier 32mpg
thank god for 44mpg from the NA cinq my only car that doesn't run on super unleaded

I personally cant condone the selling of any italian car for a Vauxhall
