Hi, thanks to everyone for their contributions, even if there was a lot off topic. I've just about sorted out how to install the alarm. The only difficulty I now have is where to tap into the interior light/door switch circuit. It doesn't seem easy to remove the "A" piller trim. Is there any where else to access this circuit easily.

any help/ideas greatly appreciated.

Yeah, at the door end.

As you open the door there is a switch /push button type jobby. Have a looksie round there and there should be some wires hanging around. Failing that, look in Haynes and find out what colour the wiring is and have a root round the loom. Sorry i couldnt be more help - its been a while since i did mine.

The A Pillar trim is fairy easy to remove....just undo the screws and manipiulate it out...it takes some deterimnation, but IIRC, it goes down, then sideways...

But yu can get to the switch wiring by undoing the switch- its held in by a cross head screw
