Hi, i've just bought a siecento W reg and it occasionally it will cut out whilst driving and you have to pull over take the key out and start it again and its fine. Any idea what it could be and is it expensive?

Any warning lights (I'm thinking of the one that looks like a torch (or an injector)).

Also, what car?

The car is a 2000 Seicento Citymatic 899cc engine. There is no warning light but there is a fault buzzer then it cuts out.

Strange. No experience of those at all. Rallycinq may have some ideas.

There is no warning buzzer that I know of on a standard manual 899.

I would guess, and its only a guess, that the problem is related to the gearbox operation.

I would start with a check of the gearbox oil level, and then a check of all the connectors on the actuators.

Hi and thank you Rallycinq. It hasn't happened to me yet I was just told that the relay fault buzzer goes and it cuts out. Put the key back in and its ok. I've only just picked the car up. I hope its nothing major as I'm a single mum and short of money. I needed a cheap car and this was it! Don't know where to start really!

Hi again, I've just had it happen to me 3 times in one journey. The alarm beeps ACS comes up on dashboard then it cuts out? Does this help to explain any more?

ACS means something like "Automatic Clutch System" which is what the Citymatics have.

Knowledge of these things is pretty rare. Your best course of action is probably a FIAT dealer.
