Temp sender for temp gauge??

Hi all going gettin some clocks with the temp gauge as mine has not got this???
Need to know where the sender unit is that registers the temp to the clocks(pic would b nice),been told its poss as long as u source from same engined size car as i dont want to waste my money if ive got this wrong.

Forget the "same engine sized car" stuff. It's complete ********. Temperature is temperature, regardless of engine size.

Kripit and Asteris have both written extensively on this. Use the search engine. Get the temp sender from the folk you get the guage from. Best place for the sender (given 1100) is the thermostat housing. Some pics here.

I think the OP is trying to fit gauges from a cento with a temp gauge into a car that didn't have a gauge only a light. I am guessing 899 snd the coolant sensor is on top of the thermostat housing.

It thought the sender for the gauge on an 899 was the one screwed into the cylinderhead?
