I am so suprised NOT so see any other problems relating to Actuators on the Seicento Citymatic. There are about 20 on the car survey site. I would appreicate contact from anyone having or had the same problem. I know of people who have had this part replaced 4 times!!
The cost of getting this repaired is about £700.

My car is currently in the garage having had a diagnostic £70 + vat which diagnosed 'speed incoherent' they rang me to tell me that they fixed the problem but now the car won't select gear! ACTUATOR the problem that I diagnosed simply by reading about it on another site.
My e-mail is [email protected]

im quite surprised as well, two words on the old citymatic actuators "total crap"
however all is not lost, its not that tricky too convert them back too regular manuals, it maybe worth considering.

Or as we nickname them at work, Seicento s**ttymatic. Fiat themselves do a conversion kit to convert them into manual
